A Three-Line Medium Post Title Is Not a Very Good Title Choice
Some Medium authors use huge titles to be provocative. Keeping titles short is a better choice for sharing and gaining readers.
Have you ever seen one of those posts that has a sentence at a title?
Many will have a sentence or two short sentences that take up a line or two.
But occasionally someone will write a post with a title that takes up three rows to explain some observation. Many times these are part of a political post or even an observational essay, something that a marketer or small business would not address.
But titles this long in Medium can be their own form of clickbait, trying way too hard to cram too much information to draw the reader into the post.
Long titles are hints that the post may not be deeply thought out, covering too many ideas for the reader to keep up. People are used to reading online, but they skim as much as they do read. There needs to be a balance in the length of information as much as there is the need to convey information. that the reader expects to see.
