Exactly. This was not the time to say anything that would sound like a question of someone's work ethic. The criticism is a reminder that the holidays should be a moment for looking back and emphasizing the good events of the year and speaking to people in a more casual and hopeful way. I do believe Shah is competitive -- if you run a business, you are automatically in that category regardless of the size of the business. But "work harder" messages need to be sent with tools to manage that extra work, not just as a statement. If Shah had offered tools to better manage work life blend, or stated that such resources were coming very soon, I think his message would have been received much more positively.
