Great article points -- Musk is distracted now. His Twitter acquisition was a humongous mistake because it took his focus off of the EV market, which is shifting due to pricing idiscount that even Tesla could not overlook. The next two major vehicles, the Cybertruck and the roadster, are halo vehicles that takes engineering away from the sectors he should be defending -- the ones Model Y, S, etc. currently participate. BYD is where Tesla was years ago, but they may overtake Tesla. I liked that you mentioned Musk's interviews versus BYD CEO -- he is too focused on being "influential" to the point where it distracts from any features or products his companies produce. Tesla may ahve a chance to survive based on its charging networks, but the vehicles need meaningful redesigns to compete against the offerings from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other manufacturers that have more mainstream and accessible vehicles.
