Great post! Part of the issue with curation is that Medium does not provide robust analytics to gives a writer clues to what resonated with readers and what didn't. It's kind of a slippery slope. You don't want to just write for "reads" - which is a substitute for clicks - but at the same time the money provided should keep your interest and investment enough to write more.
