Part of the problem is that there are a lot of platforms to share content, so it's easier for entrepreneurs starting out to get a message suggesting that a course is THE way to make money (and to have want-to-be-preneurs sell courses as THE business model).
In reality, any media is PART of a business model, not the whole model itself. You may have to choose carefully what content you want to provide to make any medium work.
You are right that people should be doing more than diving into a course curriculum at the start of the entrepreneurial journey, but that is also a behavior that no one entrepreneur will shift by not offering a course (People don't do well without a framework, and the internet is ripe for that kind of aimlessness).
One solution - hosting live chats via Clubhouse or Linked In may be preferable (Although the irony is that many people are doing that are also hosting their course as well). In short, you are on to something, but it may take some experimentation to find how you want to work around the course option. Hope my comments are helpful.
