The one challenge is that OpenAI is thinking of capping the number of queries on ChatGPT. That changes the capacity of it being a "search engine" since search engines yield multiple pages of items that are relevant to a query. In a counter argument, most people don't go beyond the 2nd or 3rd page, so a limit may be ok. This is still a new medium, a bit more chatbot than search engine, but with an opportunity for multiple benefits from its usage as it understands queries better.
